The basis for this is continuous dedication to structural quality, that is, first and foremost the qualitatively excellent further training of our physicians and employees, coupled with awareness and openness towards all new advancements in the field of medicine. Our practice aims to provide modern and state-of-the-art facilities, devices, diagnostic equipment, operative therapy, patient care, and patient organization. All of our medical care is based on the relevant national and international guidelines of the specialist associations and the newest discoveries in the field of evidence-based medicine.

Our practice

Our practice is located on the 4th floor of the PAN Clinic. The Pan Clinic is part of the Neumarkt Galerie where you can find a wide range of stores. We treat both statutory insured and private patients. We also have individual agreements with numerous other health insurance providers which allow those insured to undergo treatment as an inpatient at our clinic. This service is available to all private patients. The Hernia Center Cologne was found in 2009 by Dr. Michael Schweins. In 2012, the practice was taken over by Dr. Bernd Stechemesser and expanded into a specialist surgical center for hernia and minimally invasive surgery. We are one of the largest hernia centers in Germany with over 1,200 hernia operations carried out annually.
