Abdominal wall hernia/Umbilical hernia
Abdominal wall hernias and umbilical hernias are the second most common forms of hernia. These types of hernias do not always need to be treated using mesh repair techniques. The type of treatment depends on the size and location of the hernia. However, there are several techniques available where mesh is used to replace the affected area of the abdominal wall. We basically distinguish between insertion of mesh into the abdominal cavity or below the abdominal extensor musculature. Minimally invasive procedures such as MILOS and PUMP or the insertion of a special umbilical mesh are also carried out at our clinic on a daily basis.
