Diagnostic laparoscopy

Undefined abdominal pains are common in adults. However, if the symptoms last for longer that three months then this is called chronic abdominal pain. Despite modern diagnostic techniques, such as ultrasound, CT, MRI, and endoscopy, the cause of abdominal pain remains unclear in many cases. In some situations, a laparoscopic examination can provide definitive answers as to the cause of the symptoms. Adhesions affecting the inner organs and intestinal structures can be released and long-term relief from these symptoms can be achieved. This type of diagnostic procedure is performed under general anesthetic.
